The Sub-Department of Public International Law and International Relations forms part of the Department of Public Law of the University of Alcalá in Madrid (Spain). The Sub-Department is directed by Professor Dr. Dr. Carlos Jiménez Piernas, and it offers a wide range of academic activities which focus on contemporary issues of Public International Law, International Relations and the European Union Law, with special interest in the European Integration Process, International Economic Law and the Protection of Human Rights.

It must be stressed the annual realization of the LL.M. Program on International Human Rights Protection.  During the next academic course this LL.M. Program will be held already for the 9th consecutive year.  The Program attracts every year lawyers and scholars from around the world who are specialized in human rights, and who transform the University of Alcalá into a point of reference for professionals in the field of human rights.
