Most of Queen Mary’s postgraduate law students are based in our Lincoln's Inn Fields campus in Holborn. This area is the historic legal centre of London, near to the Royal Courts of Justice. It’s also close to Covent Garden and the West End of London.
Have a look around the Lincoln's Inn Fields campus on avirtual tourthat takes you through Kingsway, the Royal Courts of Justice and the gardens.
Our premises in Paris are situated in the heart of the 7th arrondissement, close to the Hôtel des Invalides. Just over the river are the 8th and 16th arrondissements, home to numerous law firms.
Our student body in Paris is a close-knit and diverse community comprising recent graduates, Bar School students, and experienced legal professionals, from various jurisdictions around the world.
Having completed the LLM programme these students represent the newest additions to our alumni community, where members continue to forge connections and strengthen existing networks both in Paris and beyond.
Careers and Events
Queen Mary supports its students through dedicated law careers consultants as well as facilitating networking opportunities with the UK and international legal communities through events and other activities.
"The interactive classes allow students not only to confirm their understanding but also to develop their analysis of the law. [...] Studying in London with friends from various backgrounds adds cultural
depth to student life. Every week after classes, we head to a restaurant
offering food from each of our home countries, in turn, and then move
on to a pub."

LLM IN TAX LAW, 2010-11
"I have enjoyed studying with tax professionals from diverse backgrounds
which created a dynamic and interactive study environment and made it
easier for International students to fit in. I have also found the Queen
Mary staff to be friendly and committed to ensuring that all students
enjoy their experience at the University."
Diana Kull, Estonia
LLM IN BANKING AND FINANCE, 2010-11
"I was attracted by the outstanding reputation of the Law School and the
CCLS in the area of banking and financial law, the variety of
specialised courses, and the highly professional academic staff. The knowledge and skills acquired in this specialised programme will definitely enhance my career perspectives."
Cem Arsiray, Germany
LLM IN PUBLIC INTERNATIONAL LAW, 2008-09
"The very international and highly motivated student community and the
direct contact to the teaching staff made it possible to experience an
extremely valuable academic discourse. Being in London also had a share
in this. We had also access to the
Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, which is the best law library I
have ever seen."
Athikarn Bell Dilogwathana, Thailand
LLM IN ECONOMIC REGULATION, 2009-10
"Besides the academic aspects, I have found that studying in QMUL has
given me an opportunity to build a great social network, as the
programme provide us a lot of social events throughout the year. Even
though the LLM students here are from amazing different backgrounds, we
all are able to both play and study hard together throughout the whole
year"
