Reed Smith is delighted to announce that Andrew Tetley, Counsel in our Shipping Group in Paris, has been appointed to the ICC International Court of Arbitration in Paris for a renewable three year term. The Court sits every week in committee sessions (three members presiding) and once a month in plenary sessions. It has global oversight over all ICC arbitrations and awards, confirming, appointing and replacing arbitrators, fixing the place of arbitration, assessing whether there is a prima facie ICC arbitration agreement, making decisions in complex multi-party or multi-contract arbitrations, deciding on challenges to arbitrators, scrutinizing and approving all arbitral awards, setting, managing and, if necessary, adjusting costs of the arbitration and generally monitoring compliance with the ICC Rules.
This prestigious appointment is a recognition of Andrew’s experience and abilities in international arbitration, and of Reed Smith’s growing profile in this area.
