Admisson

Applicants are asked to submit the following with their online application form (all documents must be in original and sent from their source): 


  • Official transcripts from LL.B. or equivalent first law degree

    • Transcripts must indicate courses and grades from your first degree in law. Additional degrees may be submitted for review, but will not be used to calculate the minimum grade point average required.

    • General GPA requirement of 80 on a scale of 100.

    • If your transcripts are not in English, you will need to provide a translated copy which will need to be notarized for authenticity.


  • Two letters of recommendation, from academic and/or professional sources


  • Statement of Intent: We are interested in your past experiences and future aspirations. Please tell us what has motivated you to pursue and LL.M. degree, your career plans following your graduate studies, and how an LL.M. degree from the Faculty of Law will help you advance your professional goals.


  • Resume/CV


  • TOEFL/IELTS exam: English-language proficiency exam is required for all applicants whose first law degree was not taught in English, or for applicants whose law degree program was taught in English but whose degree-granting institution is located in a country where English is not the primary language. Exams must be taken before the application deadline, and official scores must be sent directly to the TAU International office by the testing agency. TAU International’s ETS code is 7704. TOEFL test (minimum score: written 582, computer-based 223, or internet-based 89). IELTS test (minimum score: 7).


  • $100 USD application fee, payable by credit card or bank transfer.


  • One passport sized photo

Program

Fall Semester


Students begin their studies in the fall semester. The semester includes two 11-week sessions on Tuesdays from 17:15 to 20:30, and on Fridays from 09:00 to 13:15. The sessions comprise the following courses:


  • Workshop on Mergers and Acquisitions and Advanced Issues in Corporate Law. Taught by: Prof. Sharon Hannes and Prof. Ehud Kamar (2 credits).
  • Antitrust Law. Taught by: Prof. David Gilo (3 credits).
  • Commercial Aspects of Enrichment Law. Taught by: Prof. Ofer Grosskopf (2 credits).
  • Corporate Finance and Valuation. Taught by: Prof. Avi Tabbach (2 credits).

Spring Semester


The semester includes two 11-week sessions on Tuesdays from 17:15 to 20:30, and on Fridays from 09:00 to 13:15. These sessions comprise the following courses:


  • Advanced Issues in Property Law. Taught by: Prof. Hanoch Dagan (2 credits).
  • Workshop on Mergers and Acquisitions and Advanced Issues in Corporate Law (part 2). Taught by: Prof. Sharon Hannes and Prof. Ehud Kamar (2 credits).
  • Regulation of the Securities Market - The US vs. Israel. Taught by: Prof. Omri Yadlin (2 credits).
  • Introduction to Intellectual Property. Taught by: Prof. Michael Birnhack and Dr. Amir H. Khoury (2 credits).

 

Summer Semester


The summer semester will take place at UC Berkeley during an intensive four-week period while the courts in Israel are in recess (exact dates TBA). The concentrated studies will be held five days a week, six hours a day. In addition to the busy academic schedule, several extracurricular events and tours are also scheduled to take place. A total of 117 academic hours will be delivered during this month, constituting 9 credits.

The semester includes the following courses:


  • Introduction to the U.S. Legal System. Taught by: Prof. Ken Bamberger.
  • Intellectual Property in the Digital Age. Taught by: Prof. Peter Menell.
  • Entrepreneurship. Taught by: Prof. David Charron.
  • Venture Capital. Taught by: Prof. Robert Bartlett.
  • Business Associations. Taught by: Prof. Justin McCrary.
  • Digital Antitrust. Taught by: Prof. Steve Maurer.
  • Securities Fraud. Taught by: Prof. Reza Dibadj.
  • Topics in Business Torts. Taught by: Prof. Mark Gergen.
  • The Legal Profession and the Venture Capital Industry. Selected lectures by professionals from Silicon Valley.

 

Writing Assignment


During the course of studies each student, in consultation and under the supervision of one of the program's faculty advisors, must submit a writing assignment equivalent to two writing credits on a topic of his/her choice.
