Admission

Applicants for the LL.M. program must be graduates of an accredited U.S. or international law school and must demonstrate an excellent academic record, strong legal research and writing skills, and a genuine and documented interest in environmental and natural resources law. Applicants must hold or be about to obtain a law degree that would qualify them to apply to practice as a lawyer or judge in their home country (J.D. if in the United States, otherwise LL.B. or the equivalent); actual bar membership or law practice is not required. A degree in any other discipline, even if combined with elements of law or policy, is not sufficient to qualify for LL.M. admission.

LLM application documents:

  • International students only:(1) Certificate of financial responsibility;* (2) International Student Information Sheet; (3) For students for whom English is a second language, TOEFL scores of at least 100; IELTS score of 8 or above.
