Admission
Applicants for the Maine Law LL.M. program must have obtained a terminal professional law degree. The degree should be the equivalent of the J.D. or LL.B. degree. Candidates for whom English is not a native language must also have attained an adequate score on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), or otherwise be able to demonstrate equivalent English language proficiency. Classes are taught solely in English.
Certification of finances also must be completed prior to acceptance. Applicants must show proof of financial capacity to cover the cost of tuition and living expenses. Tuition is $22,290 for Maine residents or $33,360 for non-residents. Applications are accepted on a rolling admissions basis. A $500 seat deposit is due by June 15 for September matriculation or November 15 for January matriculation.
