Descriptif du poste


The Role: Amazon’s Legal Department is looking for a talented lawyer who will support our rapidly growing retail business in France. You will provide day-to-day business law counseling and resolve legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships. You will also work on a broad range of commercial law issues such as negotiating contracts for all open categories sold at our websites (e.g. books, music, software video games, toys, baby, consumables and electronics). You will support all types of new, usually Pan European, projects as well as providing support regarding regulatory inquiries. You will be based in Paris. We are looking for candidates who are innovative, progressive, extremely hands-on and customer-obsessed professionals. Responsibilities include: 1) Advising the business on commercial, regulatory (including product compliance) and contract negotiations 2) Be the first point of contact to our business teams for all types of product categories; you will be involved in strategic projects including all new business developments 3) Serving as member of the Amazon European Legal team and acting as a liaison to the European and Global corporate headquarters (in Luxembourg and the US respectively), communicating effectively on any legal and policy issues impacting France 4) Proactive planning, advising and implementing legal programs and improvements to support and protect the business 5) Training employees on contract negotiations, compliance, company policies and processes

Profil recherché


Basic Qualifications - Fully qualified lawyer in France with outstanding legal qualification - Minimum 8 years post-qualified legal experience with at least two years at a law firm - Excellent written and oral communication skills in English Preferred Qualifications : - Strong commercial background and ability to function as generalist - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - Be able to draft and negotiate contracts in English - High degree of independence, initiative and decisiveness but also desire to be challenged and think outside the box - Great business and legal judgment, especially in situations involving uncertainty and ambiguity - Ability to deliver results, both as an individual contributor and as a member of the European legal team - Capacity to lead projects and coordinate external advisors
